Mark Tami MP hosts Christmas card competition

Mark Tami MP invited all primary schools across Alyn and Deeside to compete in this year’s annual Christmas card competition.

Mr Tami chose a winner from each of the thirteen schools that entered, from which a top three were announced.

All thirteen winners attended the event, held at the Toyota plant in Deeside, with their parents and representatives from the school and received prizes.

The winner was Frankie Russell from Ysgol Parc y Llan in Treuddyn, with Emma Foster from Edward Morgan and Laura Brighton from Broughton Primary finishing second and third respectively.

Mark Tami said; “It was a great year this year with some really fantastic entries. A big thank you to everybody who entered the competition, it was difficult enough picking winners from each school never mind a top three.

“I hope the pupils enjoyed their morning out.  A massive well done to all the school winners, especially Frankie who was the overall winner and whose design will be on the front of all the Christmas cards I send out this year.

“Also a special thanks goes to the Toyota who hosted the event, and also Coleg Cambria, ConvaTec, Ifor Williams and Parc Adfer who all sponsored it.”

Mark Tami also paid tribute to the office of Carl Sargeant, who also played a big part in the organisation of the event.

Frankie Russell on the left, Emma Foster on the right and Laura Brighton in the middle (1, 2 and 3 respectively).

“It is of course incredibly sad that Carl could not have been here today, I know he always enjoyed judging and presenting the competition. His office did however help organise the day and I am very grateful for that.”
