Local politicians visit Airbus plant in Broughton

Airbus steward and union officialNorth Wales politicians today visited the Airbus plant in Broughton. Mark Tami, Labour candidate for Alyn and Deeside, David Hanson, Labour candidate for Delyn and Ian Lucas, Labour candidate for Wrexham, met with stewards and workers to discuss the forthcoming election.

As a major employer in the area, the politicians were keen to meet with employees and get a better understanding of their views on Brexit and the state of the manufacturing industry as a whole.

Mark Tami said; “We are lucky to have such a significant employer here in Alyn and Deeside; and the thousands of people who are employed there are reaping the rewards.

“I have ensured Airbus’ voice has been heard in numerous debates in Westminster over the years and I intend to continue to do so if re-elected.

“Brexit is obviously a key issue at the moment and I understand the uncertainties that companies are currently facing, it was therefore very beneficial to speak to employees today and gauge a better understanding of these issues.”

“I feel I have a good relationship with employers in Alyn and Deeside, I hope I get the opportunity to build on these relationships after June 8th.”
