Over the past two years Airbus, in partnership with The Leader newspaper, have donated over £20,000 to local community groups and charities through the Airbus Community Awards.
Airbus and the Leader last week launched the third Community Awards and Mark Tami MP has praised the initiative, urging community groups across Flintshire to get involved.
Mark Tami said; “I know how difficult it is for community groups to raise funds ordinarily, that is why the Community Awards is such a good opportunity for these groups.
“It has been great to see so many local community groups benefit from the Awards over the last two years. The work Airbus and the Leader have done has been extraordinary and it is great to see them continue the Awards for another year.
“I urge as many community groups to get involved as possible and I look forward to seeing more worthwhile causes benefiting from the funding.”
The Airbus Community Awards this year will see £10,000 being shared amongst 10 local groups benefiting youth, education, environment and inclusivity projects within the area.
Application forms can be obtained from the leader directly by calling 01352 707760 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications must be from groups within a 20 mile radius of the Broughton site (CH4 0DR) and the closing date for applications is Monday 13th February 2017.
