Mark Tami MP praises the work of local charity SHARE.

SHAREAdam Dandy of Dandy’s Topsoil and co-founder, Louise Edwards, have worked tirelessly alongside a dedicated team of volunteers to create the charity SHARE (Supporting Homeless and Refugees Everywhere). Mark Tami MP has long shown his support for the cause and was proud to be at the opening of the charity’s first shop on Saturday in Chester.

Last year’s refugee crisis proved to be the catalyst for this charity, the charity worked extensively to provide refugees with aid donated from locals and customers. The charity has been using a unit in Flint that is now full of donations for refugees and local homeless people. Mr Tami visited the unit before Christmas to see the work the team were doing and has supported the charity every step of the way since.

Mark Tami said; “I’m very proud of the work Adam, Louise and their team have done. The refugee crisis has been devastating to see. The support charities like SHARE provide is essential if we are to work towards putting an end to the crisis.

“It has been wonderful to see the levels of generosity shown by my constituents and people in the surrounding areas. The charity and the people who have made this happen – the founders and donators alike – really are a credit to the area”.

The Flintshire-based charity has officially opened its revolutionary new shop at the site of the former Antonina’s ice cream parlour on Northgate Street. The shop, which is run by the charity’s founders and volunteers, offers original and ambitious new schemes to help aid homeless people in Chester and refugees in Syria.

Adam Dandy said; “There is so much generosity to go round. Some people are passionate about the refugees, some more about the homeless, but there is more than enough generosity to go round. I’ve been here two weeks solid getting the shop ready.”

The charity is still looking for donations and volunteers. Specifically they need shoes tied together stuffed with socks with the EU size clearly marked on them, warm clothes for teenagers, camping ground mats, tents and most importantly sleeping bags. They also need volunteers in Flint and in Chester at the Share Shop, to find out how you can get involved or if you are a company willing to sponsor an aid pallet then please visit www.shareaid.co.uk
