Local MP Mark Tami praises local charity trustees

Last week as part of Trustees’ Week, Mark Tami MP celebrated the important contribution that charity trustees make to their local communities and thanked trustees for their hard work over the last year.

A wide range of activities and services are carried out by the numerous charities in Alyn and Deeside.  All of which would not be able to carry out their important work without the diligent efforts of trustees, most of whom are volunteers.

Trustees’ Week which ran from 2-8 November highlighted the important work that charity trustees do all year round and raises awareness of how people can gain valuable experience and skills through volunteering as a charity trustee.

Mark Tami MP said; “Charities do amazing work across the country and this is very much the case in my constituency. Local charities make such a difference to the lives of many of my constituents and this certainly wouldn’t be possible without the important contribution of charity trustees. That is why I am supporting the national Trustees’ Week. I would like to take this moment to thank all the local charity trustees for their tireless dedication to the civic life of Alyn and Deeside.”

Paula Sussex, Chief Executive of the Charity Commission, echoed Mark’s gratitude and said; “Trustees’ Week celebrates the work of thousands of local charity trustees who give their time for free to help charities run more effectively. They are unsung heroes and I want to thank them for their hard work and dedication.”
