Rock the House and Film the House Competition Details

Mark Tami, MP for Alyn & Deeside is encouraging budding musicians and filmmakers in the area to enter the Westminster competitions Rock the House and Film the House.

Mark Tami said, ‘This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent in Flintshire and I would encourage filmmakers in the area or budding musicians to enter into the competitions.’

The Rock the House competition has six categories which are:

  • Under 19 solo artist
  • Under 19 band
  • Solo artist
  • Band
  • Music venue
  • People’s choice award

Previous prizes have included the opportunity to play at the House of Commons and a slot at Download Festival (subject to suitability) as well as a Gibson Guitar and Bass.

The five categories of the Film the House competition are:

  • Drama/Thriller (19 years+)
  • Comedy (19 years+)
  • Documentary (19 years+)
  • Action (19 years+)
  • Under 19 (any genre)

The previous prizes have included among others a private screening of the film in a Paramount Cinema and work experience at Lionsgate films.

The competitions seeks to raise awareness of intellectual property rights and the importance of live music and British cinematography.
