Politicians Visit Foodbank Stall

Mark Tami MP and Shadow Welsh Secretary, Owen Smith, went to Broughton Tesco this weekend to lend a hand with the National Food Collection run by Tesco’s in partnership with Trussell Trust and FareShare.

Mark Tami and Owen Smith met with foodbank manager, Sue Leake, volunteer Lydia Griffiths and Customer Services Manager, Steve Love.

The Alyn & Deeside MP said, ‘The Flintshire foodbank does a brilliant job helping people when they are most in need. Christmas can be a very difficult time of year but the food collected from generous customers at Tesco this week will support many families in Flintshire over the festive period.’

This was the 5th time Tesco has carried out this nationwide collection where customers could donate food between the 24- 29th November and Tesco would increase the amount by 30%.
