Mark Tami MP Encourages Education of Cancer in Schools

The Alyn & Deeside MP has written to both the Education Minister and the Health Minister supporting the Rethink Cancer campaign regarding the importance of educating children about cancer.

Mark Tami MP said, ‘With 1 in 3 people being diagnosed with cancer it is vital that children are taught about cancer and can develop lifelong habits to protect themselves as much as possible.’

The Rethink Cancer campaign has gone into schools and educated children that cancer is treatable and improved their understanding of the signs and symptoms of cancer as well as factors that increase the risk of cancer.

Mark continued, ‘I have written to Health and Education Ministers in the Welsh Government as I believe that this is a great initiative which could help raise awareness of cancer and inform people of how to spot the symptoms.’
