Mark Tami Commits to Supporting Palliative Care for Children in Alyn & Deeside

Mark Tami has given his support for children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions in Alyn & Deeside at a Westminster event held by children’s palliative care charity Together for Short Lives.

Mark Tami met with Anna Gill OBE, a parent carer of a young person with a life-limiting condition, in addition to representatives from Together for Short Lives, the charity behind Children’s Hospice Week. He agreed to write to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Flintshire County Council to ask what action they are taking to integrate services for children who need palliative care.

Mark Tami MP said: “Volunteer organisations that provide palliative care for children need to be supported as much as possible. Palliative care is not a topic many people wish to talk about, especially when discussing it  for children but it is vital that services are linked up and support each other so that the children and their families are given support during a very hard time.”
