Mark Tami MP and Carl Sargeant AM visit Connah’s Quay High School

Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami and AM Carl Sargeant cqhsvisited year 12 students at Connah’s Quay High School  to talk about their roles and answer some tough questions on a range of subjects, from Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) and equality to lowering the voting age.

Carl said: “It was great to be welcomed back to my old high school once again.  I really enjoyed speaking to the students and talking about the issues that matter most to them.

“The questions they had prepared for us were excellent and very well thought-out and challenging.  I hope they found the session useful.”

Mark said: “Carl and I discussed the differences between our roles and encouraged the youngsters to take an interest in politics and voting in the future.

“They brought up some really interesting issues and were a credit to their school and teachers.  I look forward to returning to the school in the future.”
