Mark Tami MP received a petition from concerned Alyn & Deeside residents campaigning against the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill which is currently progressing through Parliament.

Mark Tami MP said, ‘I recognise the concerns that many constituents have regarding this Bill. I firmly believe that there does need to be reform of the lobbying industry but this Bill will not impact on the majority of lobbyists and will instead gag charities and campaign groups.’

The petition was carried out by campaign group 38 Degrees who have been a lead voice against the Bill as it has made its way through Parliament. The organisation is attempting to deliver the petition to every MP.

Mark added, ‘I have had hundreds of emails and letters from people in Alyn & Deeside who are concerned about this Bill and I know that other MPs have too. I believe that the Government need to listen to the widespread public concern about this issue to scrap the Bill.’
