Flintshire Politicians Support Comic Relief

Mark Tami MP and Carl Sargeant AM for Alyn and Deeside attended an event in Parliament this wComicRelief (2)eek to raise support for Comic Relief.

The reception provided an opportunity to hear about some of the important projects funded through donations to Comic Relief that help transform the lives of countless people, both here at home in the UK and across Africa.

Mark Tami MP said, ‘I am always impressed with the amount of money Comic Relief is able to raise and the spirit in which people across the UK join in.’

It is fantastic to see how the money raised is spent on improving people’s lives both in UK and abroad.’

Carl Sargeant said, ‘Comic Relief is an excellent opportunity for people to raise money in fun and inventive ways and the money raised will improve the lives of many people in need.’

Guests were joined by Comic Relief ambassadors, including TV presenter Christine Bleakley, actress Brenda Blethyn and Red Nose Day Director Emma Freud.

The event marked Maltesers’ second year as Red Nose Day partners. Through the partnership the organisations are aiming to raise over £1 million by donating 5p from every pack of special edition Maltesers sold.
