MP and AM’s Christmas Card Unveiled

Mark Tami MP for Alyn and Deeside and his Welsh Assembly colleague, Carl Sargeant AM, unveiled the winner of their Christmas card competition which they hold annually.

The winning design was unveiled at a ceremony in Toyota’s Manufacturing Plant in Deeside. Every year pupils across Alyn and Deeside are invited to submit their designs and the winning picture is turned into the official Christmas card. More than 1,000 pupils submitted their designs this year from 17 different schools.

Mark Tami MP said, “This year the competition was stronger than ever and I was really impressed with the standard of the designs. The winning design is filled with colour and I am delighted with the result”

Chloe Roberts from Golftyn C.P School drew the winning design with her drawing of picturesque Christmas scene of a tree by a roaring fire. In addition to winning the first place prize Chloe and her family will be invited to visit Parliament.

Carl Sargeant added, “It was a great morning and at the end the children all signed a card that will be sent to the First Minister, Carwyn Jones. The competition could only be held because of the generous sponsorship from great local companies including UPM Shotton Paper, E-ON, Vion Foods and Toyota.”
