Alyn and Deeside MP Learns How to Spot Cancer Early

Mark Tami MP for Alyn and Deeside is supporting Cancer Research UK’s Spot Cancer Early campaign. He met with a group of nurses at the Cancer Research UK Roadshow in Manchester who were spreading the word about the importance of early diagnosis.

Mark Tami said, ‘When cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, treatment is often simpler and more likely to be effective. That is why I support this campaign as it spreads the message across Alyn and Deeside that early detection saves lives.’

There are more than 200 types of cancer that present a wide range of symptoms but the message of the campaign is for individuals to learn what is normal for their bodies as then they will be more likely to notice any changes.

Chris Faulkner the senior nurse with the Cancer Research UK Roadshow said, ‘if you notice any unusual or persistent changes in your body, visit your GP without delay. If it is something serious then finding it early could make all the difference.’

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity cancer and its pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has saved countless lives.
