Supporting the Creation of Community Covenants

Mark Tami MP for Alyn and Deeside recently attended an event at the House of Commons organised by the Royal British Legion to promote the creation of Community Covenants.

Mark Tami MP said: “Community Covenants are a fantastic way for local authorities and the wider community to show their support for our Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families.”

He added that ‘Local authorities will have access to funding for projects which help strengthen ties between the Armed Forces community and the wider community.’

So far more than 50 local authorities have signed up to the covenants and another 50 are in the pipeline. They are designed so that local authorities can commit meeting the needs of the Armed Forces community and identify opportunities for working closer together.
