Mark Welcomes Train Support

Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami has welcomed the support of the Welsh Assembly Government for Deeside’s bid for a major manufacturing contract.
Hitachi has been awarded a multibillion pound Government contract to build a new generation of faster, greener intercity express trains. The firm is currently deciding on the location for its factory, and Deeside is one of a shortlist of three sites in consideration.
Mr Tami said that the contract, which would create 1,000 jobs, would be a major boost to the area.
"Locating the factory here would be a great decision for both Deeside and Hitachi. Deeside would benefit from the injection of investment and new jobs, and Hitachi would benefit from the quality, well-skilled workforce in the region."
"Ieuan Wyn Jones, Deputy First Minister and Minister for the Economy and Transport, said he had met with Hitachi to discuss the bid, and would continue to maintain close contact to provide the company with every assistance possible."
