Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami is calling for tougher noise limits on aftermarket sports exhausts.
Mr Tami said communities across Flintshire are being affected by motorists who use loud sports exhausts on their vehicles.
He added: "The level of noise from some of these aftermarket exhausts is unacceptable.
"For MOT tests they are removed, but fitted back onto the car after it has passed the test.
"What we need is a tougher set of rules governing the manufacture and sale of after market sports exhausts. I am calling on Ministers to introduce lower limits on noise levels and for police to have the power to confiscate exhaust waffles that are too loud.
"This is a form of anti social behaviour that affects every community. In other European countries it would not be tolerated and I do not believe it should be allowed here."
