Mark’s ready to name and shame

Mark Tami has threatened able drivers who park in disabled parking bays that he is preparing to name and shame them.

Mr Tami said he plans to randomly visit leisure centres and other public facilities and identify cars parked in disabled bays that do not feature official disabled badges in their windscreens.

He would then forward the car makes, models and registration numbers to newspapers and publish them on the internet.

He said: “The misuse of disabled parking bays is unacceptable and it riles me that able bodied people are still acting in such an anti social manner.

“It particularly frustrates me that able bodied people park in disabled bays at leisure centres, including Deeside Leisure Centre, where there are ample parking spaces.

“If naming and shaming is needed to clamp down on this then I am prepared to take such action.”
