Condolences for Swedish Foreign Minister

Mark Tami has joined with parliamentary colleagues in expressing their sadness at the death of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh.

The Alyn & Deeside MP has supported a House of Commons motion voicing regret and shock at the tragic death of one of Sweden’s most prominent politicians.

Mr Tami said, “I send my heartfelt condolences to Anna Lindh’s family and colleagues and would call on the Government extend its condolences to the people and Government of Sweden. She was a great and gifted politician and a known internationalist.

My parliamentary assistant Hannah Blythyn attended a youth congress in Sweden back in March, which Anna Lindh spoke at. Hannah recalls an inspirational speaker and a warm woman who received a standing ovation from all at the congress.

It is a sad loss for Sweden and worldwide democracy.”
