MPs should have a free vote to secure a total ban on hunting wild mammals with dogs – this is the view of Alyn & Deeside MP Mark Tami and 159 of his Parliamentary colleagues.

Mr. Tami has backed a House of Commons motion tabled on the first day of the new Parliamentary session which ‘welcomes the announcement in the Gracious Speech that the Government will be introducing a Bill on hunting with dogs and looks forward to the Bill’s early introduction.’

The local MP added, “It is about time that we reached a conclusion on this issue one and for all. The majority of letters I have received from constituent’s on this matter favour a total ban.

I would call on my colleagues to reject the so called middle way option as licensed cruelty and secure a ban that reflects the true feelings of the majority of Britons.”
